The Cache Valley Media Group Annual Spring Job Fair this Thursday is the biggest Job Fair of the year.
HYDE PARK – If you are looking for a job or trying to upgrade employment the Cache Valley Media Group’s annual Spring Job Fair this Thursday, April 21 is the place to be. This is one of the largest job fairs in the valley with more than 30 companies looking to fill employment shortages.
This year’s Spring Job Fair will be held on Thursday, April 21 from 11 am to 6 pm at Castle Manor, located at 170 W. 3900 N. in Hyde Park.
“This year’s fair should be big for job seekers and employers,” said Greg Robert of Cache Valley Media Group. “People should bring a resume and be ready to go to work. We have employers looking for people to go to work right now.”
Job seekers can properly prepare for the career fair by bringing a tailored resume, business cards, a pitch to sell themselves and, if possible, a portfolio of their best, previous work. Robert said it is common for people to enter the job fair and leave with multiple job offers.
“Some of the area’s biggest employers in construction, production, financial services, manufacturing, education, sales, call centers, automotive, restaurants and more will be looking for people to fill positions,” he said. “Some employers may even conduct expanded interviews on site.
“Plan on coming early to be the first in line some companies are offering immediate start dates. Many of these jobs are starting at over $20 an hour and just about any kind of work is.”
Research shows that the median household income in Cache Valley is approximately $60,530 a year, according to the US Census Bureau. Upgrading a person’s employment could change their life and the life of their family.
“If your annual income doesn’t measure up, maybe it’s time to look for a new career,” Roper added. “This job fair is also a great opportunity for future USU graduates to connect with possible employers with locations here or near the Cache Valley area.”
In years’ past, hundreds of interested employees have poured through the event looking for a job, or opportunities to upgrade their current situation. Vendors usually bring free stuff to entice potential candidates to sign up with them.
Unemployment in Cache County remains among the lowest in the state, which means there are a lot of opportunities to find work in the area.
The Cache Valley Media Group will be doing live broadcasts on multiple radio stations from the venue throughout the day. More details about the job fair are available here: https://cachevalleymediagroup.com/events-trade-shows/cvmg-job-fair/
