County superintendent to speak at chamber luncheon | Business

On Tuesday, Feb. 22, the chamber will host its monthly luncheon at the Spring Lake Clubhouse at East Highland’s Ranch with San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Ted Alejandre as the guest speaker.

Alejandre began his first four-year term as the county’s 34th superintendent after being elected to office in June 2014. He ran for the county’s lead educational seat unopposed in 2018 and was elected to his second four-year term in 2019. Alejandre is a lieutenant colonel in the US Air Force Reserves and served 17 years with the 701ST Combat Operations Squadron. Currently, he serves as an Air Force liaison officer for local high schools and is responsible for the recruitment/evaluation of prospective students for the Air Force Academy.

As county superintendent, Alejandre works collaboratively with educators, families, other agencies and stakeholders to provide advocacy, leadership and services for and on behalf of the 406,000 K-12 students attending schools public in San Bernardino County. Alejandre’s vision for all students is that they graduate prepared to compete in and contribute to our local economy and the global marketplace, and become successful adults as a result of innovative and relevant educational programs.

Tickets to the luncheon are $25 and available for purchase on the chamber website at highlandchamber.org. As always, attendees are welcome to bring raffle items to promote their businesses. As a new promotional opportunity for your business, business cards will be collected and one business will be decided at random for a five-minute spotlight at the next luncheon. Don’t forget your business cards. Doors open at 11:30 am and luncheon concludes at 1 pm
