NJ legal weed is still a cash economy. Meet the right security, insurance experts at March 16 event

Security, burglary loss prevention and then some will be critical for the New Jersey’s soon-to-open cannabis consumer market. On March 16, at NJ Cannabis Insider Live!, the Garden State’s premier cannabis business conference.

“Before you can open for business, purchase equipment or hire a staff, you will first need for your state to award you a cannabis license,” he said. Tony Gallomanaging partner at Sapphire Risk Advisory Group, who recently was named among the nation’s 100 most influence people in cannabis by High Times. Sapphire Risk is a national security consulting firm specializing in industries considered high risk, which handle large amounts of cash or valuable merchandise.

“The primary purpose of a cannabis security plan is to provide a safe and secure environment for your employees and visitors,” Gallo said. “This seminar will show you proven best practices on how to win a cannabis license, save you money and greatly help reduce your frustration when designing your security program.”

Gallo will moderate the panel, “Security + Insurance — Applications to operations” at NJ Cannabis Insider Live! March 16 conference, presented by Hance Construction. Joining him will be:

  • Nichelle Santos, founder and CEO of CannaCoverage Insurance Services. She’s an entrepreneur, business development executive in the insurance industry, practicing risk mitigation.
  • Jay Keith, of 5S Security, a recently retired detective sergeant from the New Jersey state police. Keith now offers that experience to the cannabis industry, specializing in security and private detective services.
  • Dan Jensen, an account executive with Securitas Electronic Security Inc. specializing in cannabis facility security. Jensen is also founder of Code 3 Outreach, educating first responders and veterans on the medicinal benefits of cannabis.
